Our Projects

Work that matters

The EBC (Engineered Biochar) project is at the forefront of our present sustainability efforts. It aims to convert biogenic waste into a powerful tool for carbon sequestration, which can potentially remove 200 – 3,000 million tons of CO₂e annually! G6T has analyzed and evaluated the latest technologies available for thermo-catalytic pyrolysis, gasification, and carbonization of biogenic waste, and we work closely with industry and research institutions. Customized EBC decarbonizes the atmosphere and revitalizes barren saline and drought-stressed soils, transforming them into fertile farmland. Additionally, it reduces waste volumes and associated harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Beyond its potential to turn deserts green, EBC can significantly improve the environmental impact of concrete, plastics, and many other products. G6T has developed a comprehensive EBC business model for the Middle East together with leading industry experts.

Plastic waste is a valuable resource that we must not burn or dump for environmental toxicity reasons and to avoid resource depletion. G6T has developed deep expertise in the thermochemical decomposition of olefins, which make up most of the plastic waste. We have undertaken an innovative project that analyzed all existing thermochemical technologies and concepts, ranging from TRL 2 research level to fully commercialized technologies. We have identified and assessed technologies that can revolutionize how we recycle the existing plastic waste that has mounted to an estimated 8 billion tons in our ecosphere! The idea is to break down plastic into its molecular building blocks, which can be reused in the plastic production process or the creation of other high-value HC materials. This approach leads to a significant reduction of up to 80% in the need for new fossil resources, reducing plastic pollution and closing the loop in the lifecycle of plastic waste. This heralds a new era of sustainable material management.

G6T Group’s innovative approach to tire recycling harnesses the potential of used tires, transforming them into valuable commodities such as Carbon-Black. G6T has identified and meticulously analyzed the most advanced recycling processes that convert ELT (end-of-life tires) into recycled carbon black and oil —essential raw materials for the tire manufacturing industry. Producing virgin carbon black from crude oil bottoms is one of the oil and gas industry’s most harmful and toxic processes! But carbon black is a crucial building block for producing new vehicle tires. More than 70% of the materials used for new tires could originate from recycled ELT materials, such as carbon black! This circular economy model dramatically reduces harmful emissions and waste and contributes to producing new tires with a reduced carbon footprint, leading to the change towards sustainable manufacturing practices. G6T was also engaged in an industry project in Asia for ELT recycling.

G6T Group also investigates technologies that turn municipal sewage from an environmental burden into a source of clean energy. The latest innovative technologies transform sewage into ultra-low emissions bio-diesel and hydrogen. The ecological footprint of this bio-diesel can be up to 80% smaller than fossil fuel-derived diesel, and the high-purity hydrogen is a by-product. By harnessing the vast potential of sewage, we can rely on a renewable energy source and significantly contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future with every drop of biofuel produced and every drop of fossil fuel spared.

G6T Group developed its vision to work in sustainable technologies while participating in a European DME (Dimethyl Ether) project, and some of the members involved in that project are members of today’s G6T group. DME is an eco-innovative fuel with ultra-low combustion emissions, making it a game-changer in transportation. It is a clean substitute for diesel, reducing emissions by up to 85% when used in internal combustion engines for trucks and passenger cars. DME is created from municipal solid waste and produced with modern gasification technologies. Premium vehicle manufacturers in North America and Europe have tested DME extensively with stunningly positive results. DME could pave the way for a green fuel alternative in certain economies. It could be both efficient and environmentally responsible.
